IIIT Ranchi is an autonomous institution established by an Act of the Indian Parliament and functions directly under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. As an Institute of National Importance, IIIT Ranchi has the authority to design courses, conduct examinations, and award degrees independently. Therefore, it does not require approval from UGC or AICTE for its academic programs.
Is the degree recognized by WES (World Education Services)?
Yes. All IITs established through an Act of Parliament by the Government of India function as Institutes of National Importance and are benchmark institutions with respect to statutory recognition. Therefore, all academic programs offered by IITs are recognized by WES.
Are graduates of these programs eligible to pursue a PhD at IITs, NITs, Central Universities, or other institutions in India and abroad?

All classes are conducted in live online mode. Recorded lectures are also made available for later viewing. Attendance is considered for both live sessions and recorded lecture completion.

Is placement assistance provided?
Yes. Comprehensive placement assistance is provided through our dedicated placement platform, Superset. The placement cell works closely with industry partners to ensure that students receive appropriate guidance, opportunities, and exposure to secure roles aligned with their career aspirations.
Is a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer required to pursue the program?
No. Since this is a self-sponsored program, IIT Patna does not require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer.
What are the class timings?
The majority of live academic sessions are scheduled on weekends. However, a limited number of classes may occasionally be conducted on weekdays. Considering the schedules of working professionals, recordings of all live sessions are provided. If a learner is unable to attend a live session, attendance is considered valid upon completion of the recorded session.
Are the classes delivered directly by IIIT Ranchi & IIT Patna faculty members?
Yes. Classes are delivered by IIIT Ranchi & IIT Patna faculty members and may also include sessions by industry experts and guest faculties.
Will the degree mention the word “Executive” for working professionals?
No. However, upon request, IIT Patna may issue an official confirmation letter stating that the program was completed while the candidate continued professional employment.
Is alumni status provided after completion of the program?
Yes, subject to payment of the applicable alumni fee.

These programs are designed for both working professionals and fresh graduates. They offer flexibility through a combination of live online classes and recorded lectures.
What is the role of the service partners?
Service partners assist in managing the admissions process for various Hybrid PG Programs offered by IIIT Ranchi & IIT Patna and provide student support services throughout the program.
Will students have an opportunity to visit the IIT Patna campus?
Yes. Students will be invited to visit the IIT Patna campus during designated campus immersion periods.
